Meeting Minutes

November 28, 2012

 

·         Called to Order at 9:30 am

·         Opening Prayer/Pledge: 

·         Roll Call: Excused members include: Jackie Strode, Chad Frizzell, Ken Kells, Joe Blue. Unexcused members include: Ray UpChurch.

·         Motion to accept the minutes made by Barry Brady, Second by Ed Prindle. Motion Carried.

·         New Business: Introduction of Gene McLean, Lobbyist.

·         Treasurer’s Report: Motion made by Don Hall to accept the treasuer’s report. , Second by Eric Vaughn. Motion Carries.

·         Committee Reports

a.       Training-Joe Blue: 8 members now. Rick Parnell, Terry Carl, Joani Clark, Rick Riley, Kathy Bingham.

b.      Scholarship-Don Hall:  Should have a report after the first of the year.

c.       Nomination-Barry Brady: Eric Jones, Chad Frizzell, Ken Kells

d.      Jailer of the Year-Mike Humphrey: Should have a report after the first of the year.

e.       Deputy Jailer of the Year-Ron Herrington: nothing to report.

f.        By Laws-Brad Boyd:

g.       Conference-Donna Miller:

·         Legislative Update-Renee Craddock:  Renee discussed the status of the lawsuit against Boyd and Carter Counties.   She also discussed the Transport Officer to Deputy Jailer Bill along with the Constables Bill.  The Board decided to remain neutral on the Constitutional Amendment to rid of constables.

·         Pension Reform-Renee Craddock: We are continuing to monitor the situation and awaiting a formal bill to be filed.

·         KACo Legislative Reception will be held on February 21, at the Frankfort Convention Center from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

·         Member Concerns

a.       Liability Exposure-Mike Simpson

·         Next Board Meeting –  January 16th at 9:00 am, KACo Conference Room

·         Adjournment
